Freedom School Pinewood
June 19 – July 27, 2017
Pinewood Elementary, 805 Seneca Place, Charlotte, NC 28210

Myers Park Baptist is celebrating four years of Freedom School with our Pinewood friends. We invite you to join this joyful, enriching and educational summer program for 50 scholars June 19-July 27. Imagine a room full of children clapping, chanting, laughing and learning to fall in love with books and reading.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? By volunteering and donating books!

VOLUNTEER:  We need volunteers to help in a classroom, pick up some extra supplies, sponsor an intern, read with a child, play, set up and breakdown the site, and help with the Finale.
Classroom volunteer opportunities are for adults and mature high school students. Younger children can volunteer with a parent who is volunteering. Look at the volunteer opportunities below and click on the volunteer link to sign up.

BOOKS: We are collecting books for the D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) buddy program. Our Freedom School Scholars can ALWAYS use books.  Bring your new or gently used books to the drop off bin in Heaton Hall Foyer. Questions about books? Contact Laura Handler, laura.hoeing@gmail.com.
